Mentorships with sierrA
Why Mentorships?
I started offering mentorships this year because I truly wanted to give back after everything that was taught to me! I would have never got where I am now if it weren't for so many other photographers who answered my questions and encouraged me to keep trying. In an industry that can easily be viewed as competitive and harsh, I wanted to provide community and grace. Learning photography is so much more than a business, it can be how people capture their kids growing up, remember their favorite vacations and trips, or even just a creative outlet!
My goal in each mentorship is to leave the person feeling confident, knowledgeable, and excited for what is to come! I also want to create a relationship with them so they know I am here for any further questions, critics, or just encouragement in the same way those photographers who mentored me left me feeling! I look forward to watching them grow, their work evolve, and flourish in the wonderful world of photography!

Sierra is truly exceptional!
I recently had the pleasure of starting Sierra’s mentorship right after my daughter was born, and I cannot recommend her highly enough. From the very beginning, she has provided a huge amount of knowledge and she has a genuine passion for photography. Her mentoring style is both professional and approachable, making it easy to ask questions and seek guidance. She was incredible at breaking everything down to my skill level, ensuring that I understood everything before moving on. Her constructive criticism is super helpful and always kind. She has continued to help me navigate Lightroom and finding my editing style. Sierra’s patience and enthusiasm has made every conversation super enjoyable and highly productive. After years of wanting to be a photographer, but not knowing where to start, she helped me gain confidence in my abilities and a deeper appreciation for photography. If you are looking for a mentor who is knowledgeable, supportive, and passionate about teaching, Sierra is truly exceptional!!
